FAQ’S FOR THE OOS POPULATION ON JPAY TABLET

Currently JPay does not have the ability to readily transfer players between states. The exception to this rule will only apply to Michigan’s Northlake facility and Vermont Department of corrections.

Offenders may return their plays to JPay so that we can configure the player for the new agency. Once we (JPay) receive the player and send it back to the user, we will make sure they are made whole (with the exception of emails / videograms). This will either be done by providing credits for them to repurchase their music and games or by giving them access to the content.

Once the reassignment process has been completed, we will ship the JP5 player to the offender's new location.

Going forward the process will be:

  1. DOC staff will submit a ticket via helpdesk@jpay.com with the offender’s name and ID number that’s moving to Vermont or Northlake.
  2. JPay’s helpdesk team will email a FedEx label to the staff that provided the information.
  3. Once the JP5 tablet is received by JPay, we will reassign the JP5 tablet to the offender’s new facility/state.
  4. Once the process is completed, we will ship the JP5 tablet to the offender’s new facility/state.

Note: The offenders will not have access to the mail or videograms received at the old facility.
